Went to see a lady to quote for removing some sockets/lights before the builders knock down a few walls. Just like to check everything.. earthing/bonding etc and noticed that the meter was still running slowly after I switched the CU off?

Slightly off subject but Its a house in the middle of a built up area with TT, why would it have TT and not TN-C-S?

Just a few odd points!!!!

There is still alot of TT systems running along old terraced houses on the external wall at high level but they are slowly been converted to TNCS

Not in Cornwall. Western Power are refusing to convert overhead supplies to TNCS if not already converted/connected.
I know ENG54 will be along shortly to question this, so I'm about to fire up the scanner and scan last letter from WP to confirm.

I did a job last year in Devon, with the main switch off (No other loads connected via henleys etc), the meter ran backwards for about ten minutes afterward. Only slowly, but backward all the same!!!

utter rubbish, if its disconeccted on the outgoing how the hell can it still be reading supply

Hate to drag things back to the original subject.

HHD with everything isolated did you use you’re clamp meter on the live tails? Don’t go on the neutral as that doesn’t register in the meter.

Tell me what you find.

Just to add, printed on the meter there will be a ratio, 1KWHr = --- rotations. Time the rotation and work out the inconsistency. But only if all the load is truly isolated.
