hi guys, i need your help (again)

when upgrading the meter tails to 25mm, how far back do you replace them?

what i mean is, do you replace the tails all the way back to the main cut out? i thought we weren't allowed to touch the electricity meter, or even the cut out??

would you take the old tails out of the c/u, and put them into a double pole isolator, then use 25mm tails from there to the c/u, then ring dno to upgrade the rest???

Hi, i have always been under the impression that tails exceeding 3m must be protected by a switched fuse at the intake position, but i do see your point concerning discrimination, I was told that with regards to the dno's cutout fuse they would not guarantee protection of tails longer than 3m. You had to provide this yourself via a switched fuse as the tails belong to the consumer. I have only installed a switched fuse once and it was 80a for 4.5m tails.
