I MISSED THE LAST THREAD LIVE AND NEUTRAL REVERSE

these metering guys only do 2/3days training they are not qualified people just proven to be competent in there ridiculous days training
I finished a 2nd fix on a new hse whilst waiting for a meter to go on in the same week,all i had left to do was the testing this metering guy turned up un announced did his work and energised the DB to check the electric.

it was switched it on in my absense without my consent and a mcb (bang!!!!) "HOW DARE HE" im then informed i have a fault on a circuit in this new house!!! These people need at least 1 years learning.:gunsmilie: and yes thats what i wanted to do to him.
it didnt occur to lock off a DB that had no meter fitted as i was there for the duration but called away for a day and the idiot turned up.

i told him i would speak to his superior and if its his companys proceedure for him to loose his job then so be it, he was very sorry for his actions and i quote HE DIDNT KNOW

There is a reference to a regulation printed alongside that which is 514.3

I dont have brb or bgb what does that reg state??

it says should be 25mm not MUST be 25mm

Define should and must then when reading that, many different people interpret that in a lot of ways

For the record i agree that 16s can be used once the maths are applied, however i had read that in osg

i work for an office w. when they moved we did their new office up lovely we were not there on the day the meter fitted . when i went back for somethimg looked in the fise board and thought something wrong here . . . the meter was going backwards !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there good those meter fitters a grade and b grade

Another example
I had a customer who had an 02 phone mast on his land, on installation 02 would have to leave him a 3phase head which needed the meter.
Meter guy comes out whilst I'm there nice chap, as we standing there looking at this mains head he spurts out IT IS 3 PHASE ISN'T IT
I said mate if you don't know what your looking at I suggest you get someone who does SHOCKING lol

We i did a CDU up grade a couple of weeks ago all tails were in 16mm no seal on the fuse , but the meters were sealed , so pulled the fuse changed the board tails were nice and long so i left them at 16mm and marked on my cert then its up to the DNO if they want to up grade them , having said that after the meter its the consumers responcability so its catch 22 cant change the tails because the meters sealed could cut them then your responcable if any thing goes wrong and as its an offence to cut seals would your insurance pay out so realy until every supply has been upgraded to 25 mm and a switch fitted then what can we do , as for the meter guy connecting up the supply i posted what happended to me in another post , short story DN issued on a EICR i did after the remidial works done LE reverse , no it was a neutral fault in the meter ,installation left with no supply as he installed a switch and the tails were to short nice one eh
