Speak to Metrel there can be issues with the rotary selector. Metrel can do a full service and calibration I had 61557 eurotest serviced a few years ago for around ÂŁ200 which is my backup MFT having upgraded to a 3152

I would be surprised if the rotary selector would cause a no power on.

I wouldn't be spending ÂŁ200 when you can pick them up for between ÂŁ100 - ÂŁ250 some with new calibration.

Try a reset.

Reset: Once the batteries are in place, with the instrument OFF press the CAL key and keep it pressed now switch ON the MFT

When it comes to faults you can't rule anything out until proved otherwise

Having spoken to Gorazd at Metrel some time ago the rotary selectors on all testers can and does affect the instruments ongoing working calibration which is why when Metrel service the 61557 they replace the rotary selector as part of the servicing procedure.
Because of the calibration errors that can be caused by the rotary selector Metrel no longer use them on their newer test equipment

I looked one up on eBay and the seller advised that this is sometimes an issue with there one but removing 1 of the batteries and re installing it solves the issue .
