MF 32-40a joint

Hi all,

Just been on a kitchen remodel, has used the existing cooker feed due to difficulty of run/budget, but the kitchen fitter has kindly put a couple of rows of shelf brackets directly above the cooker switch and perfectly pinned the N to the CPC. Builders being builders seem to think it's fine as the fault "disappears" when the screw in question is removed.
I'm unhappy and will ultimately go and fix and make good at my own expense if needs be, as it's my reputation on the line and responsibility to ensure the installation is safe. Ideally in that scenario though I will fix it by putting an 80mm holesaw through the ceiling, pulling the 6mm back up the oval capping and pulling a new one with it, before applying a MF joint and patching the ceiling.
I can't seem to readily find an MF rated joint that will take 6mm and is suitably rated for the current (currently on a 40A MCB, but fairly sure the cables derated enough through the run that it's not good for it so 32A joint will be acceptable with a 32A MCB).

I've used the 41A 221 Wagos and the Wagobox they fit in (the one divided in 2 not 3) for extending 32A 6mm circuits before on several occasions and they do the job..I think technically not MF though and I'm not aware of an MF solution that's available, been waiting for one for a while, this sort of thing comes up on kitchen fits all the time, oh and it is the builders responsibility to cover cost if he has drilled a cable in a prescribed safe zone, lack of knowledge of the building regs is no excuse!!

From memory (so check MI's to confirm), these work maintenance free in the standard wagobox, but derate to 32A.

This has been my working assumption, although I don't believe I have ever seen it in black and white, I started to wade through the data sheets but l lost heart, its complicated by the wagobox not being manufactured by Wago themselves. Maybe somebody has a link to hand??
Anyway it's the only (I believe ) sensible solution to an issue that comes up periodically so until a better one is apparent, something I will continue to do if all options for an accessible joint are exhausted in any given real world scenario.

Agree though. It's either wagobox or crimping, and I'm not a massive fan of crimping generally.

Cheers guys. I was working on the same assumption, but was aware for MF the wagos in wago box were derated 32s, and couldn't find anything to suggest the same applied to the larger wagos in said box.

Am fully aware it's the builders responsibility, however if he won't agree to pay for it, I feel obliged to fix it regardless for the clients sake. It might not come to that, we will see.
