Just a warnin to all.....dont leave testers in cold vans overnite then just start usin em before lettin them warm up a bit first.....it kills em....My boss has just had to get his sorted out by Metrels as it had blown 4 resistors in it......and he was asked where he kept it at night...."in the van" he had said.....well theres your problem thay said.....it had failed on high loop and 10mA RCD...amongst a few other things as well.....i just got a feelin it wasn`t right the other day when i was usin it.....put it up against mine.....it was miles out lol.....but apparently thats an issue with testers....they dont lke going from cold to use in less than it takes for em to normalise......

well it might encourage him to put the damn thing on charge every evenin n all.....the amount of times you need to test summat and it conks out on you.....thing is....you can actually see its goin to happen n all caus the screen starts to dim on it.....OOh-will i get that last Zs or not.....the suspense...lol...

Did the same with my wander lead when we had the cold snap in Feb. Checked the resistance before testing then proceeded to wander round the house, inside and out, checking continuity on a few things.

Went back to check something and got different readings. After a few minutes head scratching it dawned on my like a tons of bricks what the schoolboy error was... :6: Followed by the words 'cock'...

Needless to say everything worked out fine in the end, which was nice...

yes...the higher the ambient tempreture....the higher the resistance/impedence......

her indoors....would that be Mrs-Fiery-Tel......
yep, she who doesn't like my toolbags etc. around the house, but as soon as something needs doing, it's "where's your tools, tel. neeed ......... fixing". women, eh.
