i used to have a heavy duty dewalt 1/2 angle drill (corded) for joist drilling (until the bit caught on a knot and broke my arm)
that thing was a beast
I use an impact driver now

Impact driver with a flat bit?? Surely too fast for an auger?

i tried my impact driver with a wood bit in it but it knurled the end up inside the driver! had a job to get it back out

I use this type and not had a problem with them jamming up. If im honest i found my 18v combi struggled with them but theyvare perfect on the impact driver.
