You mean you have never taken a realistic view in the past, if you create more work than necessary I can see how it is demanding

is it really nessesary to take my words out of context with such flippant & insulting remarks ?
if you cant debate without acting like a jerk then ignore the thread wiseguy.

If I wished to insult you I would have done but your avatar says it all

Totally agree with Biff55, this guy(Ung) cannot make his views in a neutral manner, think he likes the last word ? That,s my last word definitely ! Once I check my dictionary for AVATAR that is !

Hi the M.I cable which has been cut can be jointed if any slack.(can tell you how to do this). The cable must be heated as resistance will be very low due to moisture ingress. You could put Jb box where break is and link either side of M.I cable with glands and seal, epoxy resin.(check gland what is already on for cable size 2.5mm etc.) Let me know if you need my help bud.

pyrotenax RJMZ20 is a brass sleeve with a 20mm thread at each end (internal) which is for inline through joint repair ,but you would need to get 2 glands to fit the cable, if its imperial your on a looser unless you measure od. of copper sheath and compare with metric cable to see if there is a compatable size

Hi benji, you will need a hot and cold joint from M.I cable to cold lead on both sides of broken cable. Check existing gland for size of brass pot and cold lead needed.

One last bit of advise for those using the correct threaded tube repair joint. That is to use an integral glued heat shrink tube over the brass tube and glands that extends to the PVC over sheaths of the buried MICC cable. To basically permanently seal the joint against future water ingress and protect the exposed copper sheath etc.

I've direct buried PVC covered MICC once, at my parents property to feed the garage. It lasted about 6 or 7 years before Dad punctured it with a garden fork...lol!! So that got replaced with a SWA protected by a scaffold pole in the vulnerable section... Happy days!! lol!!
