I'm assuming you're talking about main bonding to extraneous oil supply? If so, yes. If they won't have it done, you can't do any more work, so you'll have to walk. Have you explained it's a safety issue? Can't believe what some people will risk to save, what, fifty quid?

Oh, and also if they are questioning why bonding is needed if the supply is only 12 months old, ask them to contact whoever supplied the heating, because they should have bloody done it.

yep i'll just move on ,can't be arsed to argue the point.
some people are just tight, sure some approved spark will be along shortly to do what they want to pay for.

yep i think thats the way to play it ,say nowt and just bill em for it

just checking...... can we assume the oil line enters the building and thus would need bonded. I ask because the local authority here makes us run 10mms to outside oil lines which is not required, but they wont listen

Regs state where practical the main bonding to sevices oil etc should be made within the first 600 mm and befor the first joint / connection

also if its outside you need external clamps ,its also open to corrosion

intresting , in this case the oil boiler is housed in a purpose built wooden structure joined on the side of the house
.
oil line goes into this to feed boiler but would you class it as part of the main house?
.
lot of council houses in this area have a free standing combi oil boiler in a galv weather enclosure so oil pipe is only outside and does not enter the building.
anyone quote the reg for not earthing the oil line in this instance.
only seem to find 544.1.2
call to jeff at elecsa says yes to main bond of oil if entering building or not.
