mock question

hi Guys,

Two of many questions i need answers to if you can help me,

1, Is it the Designer who decides the date of the first periodic periodic after the initial verification or is it the Inspector ?. G.N.3 -SECTION 2.5 seems to say that its the inspector who decides the date of the first periodic , im confused.

2 Amock 2391 exam question reads,
a continuity of main protective conductors test is to be carried out in an office. the point of connection for the services is 30m away from the main earthing terminal .State

a. The equipment other then the test instrument that will be required in order to obtain atest result
b. The action to be taken with the main protective conductors .
c. One hazard to building occupants which may be created with the test process.

Im not sure if they are refering to c.p.c's or main earting conductor ,

regardless of which one of the above they mean i.e cpc or main earthin conductor ,wouldnt you just use the loop in method at the c. u with the crocodile clip as you would normally which also gives your r1 and r2 readings?. The questions seem to be refering to the long lead methods .

Your feed back is much appreciated

we have started looking at the brb in collage, disconncetion times etc, so was thinking i need to get a copy soon. would you wait yourself

depends on how much demand there is for me to acquire one to be honest?

maybe try fleabay, there will be many going on there in the coming months so a couple of people may try to get theirs on there early??

I expect the RRP won't be far from where it is now at £75.

But I very much expect that there will be places where it can be obtained around the £58-£60 area?

Not heard anything about it yet.

Many thanks for your replys,
spinlondon, cant you just disconnect the bonding conductor from the M.E.T and leave the one connected to the pipework in the office as you would when doing continuity test for bonding conductors between gas and water pipes back at the C.U where the pipes come in a we do at college?.

When carrying out the design of an installation and particularly when specifying the
equipment, the designer will be taking into account the quality of the maintenance
to be specified including the frequency of routine checks and the period between
subsequent inspections (supplemented as necessary by testing).

Information on the requirements for routine checks and inspections should be
provided in accordance with Section 6 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
and as required by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
Users of a premises should seek this information as the basis on which to make their
own assessments. The Health and Safety Executive advise in their Memorandum
of Guidance on the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (HSR25), that practical
experience of an installation's use may indicate the need for an adjustment to the
frequency of checks and inspections. This is a matter of judgement for the duty holder.
The Electrical Installation Certificate requires the designer's advice as to the intervals
between inspections to be inserted on the certificate.

Hope this helps...
