04 plate vauxhall combo 1.7DI

i have a feeling he will say pads, handbrake needs adjustment and hooter is a little intermittent.

other than that I think it shouldn't be too bad.

pads will only fail if down to bare metal. otherwise, that's an advisory.
handbrake- unless strangely erect, also a pass. even then, as long as it passes a brake roller test, also a pass.
horn- as long as it works most of the time, will be fine.

Whilst I'm waiting, fitted these lights yesterday, B&Q, £15 each, they seemed pretty nice and solid for the money. [ElectriciansForums.net] Mot

Yes the we're nice to fit and just felt really good quality.

I think the hole I drill inside out must have been my personal best too, I was giggling to myself in relief that I didn't blow the brick.

Iv got a clapped out Y reg mondeo, black, we nickname it the "hurse", engine management light on (EGR VALVE DIRTY) handbrake sticks on if you use it, heat shield has fallen onto the exhaust and makes a terrible noise,....friday MOT......£40, passed.

I guess the handbrake works ok....too well! They just reset the light, and he's squahsed the heatshield around the exhaust so it rattle less.

Hi,

Ok, so...

Rear brakes unbalanced, as is handbrake, so they will sort that, front pads very low, so might as well change them too, ball joint on the end of the steering rack needs replacing, battery clamp is loose, thats my fault, number plate light has gone, I only changed it the other week, its because I slam the door every day probably.

So all that, the MOT and an oil change, £250, that's not bad, i can live with that, its got 150,000 miles on the clock so its doing good!

rear brakes unbalanced and handbrake no good: strip, clean+adjust rear brakes/handbrake - 1hrs labour
Front pads- £30 and 3/4hrs labour
track rod end- £20 and 1/2 - 3/4hrs labour (no mention of wheel alignment after fitting?)
battery clamp loose - 2 mins labour
No plate lamp gone- probably the bulb- £1.50 inc labour
Oil change- £45
Mot - £50 odd depending how much they charge.

assuming an average of £40p/h labour
I make it to be £246.50+vat

At £250 I'd say it was more or less bang on the money
