rear brakes unbalanced and handbrake no good: strip, clean+adjust rear brakes/handbrake - 1hrs labour
Front pads- £30 and 3/4hrs labour
track rod end- £20 and 1/2 - 3/4hrs labour (no mention of wheel alignment after fitting?)
battery clamp loose - 2 mins labour
No plate lamp gone- probably the bulb- £1.50 inc labour
Oil change- £45
Mot - £50 odd depending how much they charge.

assuming an average of £40p/h labour
I make it to be £246.50+vat

At £250 I'd say it was more or less bang on the money

Can't really complain, another bill, but oh well ill get over it!

In just waiting with it now, they hasty get the bit in so just taken it back, probably be an hour or so, handy though as my next job is 3 streets away at. Half 4

All fixed by the way, and passed.

needed new rear shoes too in the end as when they took the drums off they were down to the metal.

all in all bit could have been worse !

Try owning a landrover!

I rebuilt half the engine the other year, put it in for an MOT and the sodding vacuum pump and servo were kaput!
I got them to change them as I didn't have time before I needed it for a job, didn't make any noticeable difference to the brakes though.

Cakes, always take cakes, mechanics and MOT men just love cakes..
It is amazing how much difference cakes can make.
My tatty old van has gone from donuts to posh cream cakes last year, not too sure what it will take this year though but it will have to be something very special, the old girl is getting rather tired...
