Big house, all painted & decorated, client wants various sockets, wall lights & switches moved, either up,down or to the side, electrics on all 2nd fixed,no possible access to floor areas, what's the solution.Feel like walking away, but this may cause big hassle.

Totally agree, most light fitting were OK to rewrite on 1st fix basic, but not now with all 2 nd fix completed ,it's a problem, total amount maybe get up to 15 items, not happy the way things are looking on site, the client may insist moving more, she don't care ,what she wants she gets.
The customers always right! That's why bosses get more money.

Not being rude to your customer, but they probably have more money than sense, the mind boggles as to why they didn't get the positions in the correct place in the first instance, as others have said warn them of the damage and redecoration that this work will incur, stand back and await their decision.

Very few people get electrical work carried out before decorating and flooring, complete and utter divs.

Always got to be careful and get them to sign a disclaimer because it's impossible not to damage floors etc sometimes. I remember doing a rewire and putting in a load of extra sockets a few years ago, and the week before I started, they had a dark, hard wood floor done throughout. Which then got scratched! Lots!

I'd walk away, regardless of weather on not you have agreed about joints and things like that, if someone follows you onto the job and asks the customer who did it, and they say you, they will not go into depth about how you walked around every point and tried your best to be conscientious about it, your company will be dragged through the mud and your reputation is worth more than a few quid in your pocket. Let some mug pick it up. Just my two penneth

This customer sounds like a total pain, what difference would it really make if everything stayed where it was, doesn't sound like anything is 'wrong' such as a light switch on the wrong side of a door opening for example.
I think she's someone used to having her own way and may even like the power and control of messing people around.

Yea she's a complete nutter, she chose all fittings ,marked all positions, last week we put up 4 led external lights,in positions she asked for.
All working, she now wants different fittings put up,& one moved from her original position.
like I said before, recess lights have been moved 25mm over ,either right or left.Starting to do my head in,the company is in too deep to pull out, regarding payments, been here for almost a year.

But is she prepared to pay for it, it is at times like this I've always found a triplicate book is your best friend client wants a modification or extra it is noted in the book and the customer signs it, the variation is then costed and if the client agrees the cost then it is done if they don't then it doesn't once you start making ad hoc changes to suit the customers whims FOC then you set the snowball rolling and it will never stop and it won't be long before the profit is gone and more besides.
The customer in cases like this always seems to lose sight of the fact that the price is for the original agreed installation as per the spec supplied by themselves and then expect to incur no extra cost as they micro manage the day to day installation as the 2D plan becomes 3D reality and start to change things on the fly because they have no concept of what the 2D plan will actually look like in the real world

Yea agree, all changes are noted & given to gaffer, done all I can.

But has the customer signed for the changes the notes are worthless unless you have a signature have seen it before where something was changed and then changed back to the original and the tradesman didn't get paid because he hadn't covered himself by getting signatures

That's really up to the gaffer, all changes have been noted, signed of by the company we are working for.
what gets me is the works being done now, to suit her requirements,& the alterations ,which I'm still not happy to do.
