Usually they say 3mts max for meter tails without additional fault protection, so 6mts would probably be strecthing a point. However if you use an 80 amp main fuse at the meter then run the 6mts in 25mm singles and 16mm main earth I think you'd be absolutely fine. That assumes the supply is TNCS not TT, also that the cables are not concealed in a wall or require RCD protection.
 
I had a similar Q today and I was pointed in the right direction of the regs and my interpretaion is that as long as there is no reduction in CSA addition protection is not required

Was looking at one today in a one bed bungalow refurb - 16mm tails and 6mm earth completely embedded in the outside / cavity wall, no chance of changing them and no real option to install new ones. So I'll fit a 1 way DP fused isolator where they currently are inside, then just run a 2c 16mm armoured and bonding to where the new dis board needs to go.
