I just bought myself a new house well old but new to me. Any way i have a nice old wylex rewireable DB to replace. Got permission off the distributor to pull the main fuse and go and collect tags once i am finished. Problem is it also has an old heating circuit on separate meter tails they are still wired into the meter but dead. Whats the best thing to do here cut the tag on the meter and remove them or just move them to the side and terminate them in a separate box

Are those tails live now?

Can you show us the other equipment?

You need to be sure that when the main fuse goes back in, there’s no bare copper showing… either a cut off cable, or a Henley block where an old cable has come out.

And if you had off peak heating… there’s nothing exposed that could be live during off peak hours.

Just checked your profile and you’re a practising electrician, so apologies if I’ve just told you something you already know

yeah so it looks like an old off peak heating circuit to what would have been storage heaters my preference is to remove them completely from the meter but not sure how that would go down with the supplier.

Worst case i put them in a henley block to the side not ideal but it will do.

the wiring is a mess diy joe has been at it in here

That switch is connected to the shower
