Had a long call with a FiTs guy at SSE this afternoon.
They (and I'm guessing all other suppliers too) are going through all their FiTs systems that are registered with export meters and checking that they have MPANs for the export meters. They believe that an OFGEM audit on them will be checking this shortly. It is information that they are required to hold and in the mad rush of the last six months they have cut corners and let this slip.
Where they do not have MPANs for the export meter they then contact the relevant DNO and ask for one to be generated - this is the DNOs responsibility. Before doing this the DNOs are cross-checking their G83 and G59 paperwork for each installation and only generating the export MPAN if all is in order. Apparently quite a few are being thrown up where the DNO know nothing of the installation.
Where the DNO have no trace of a system the suppliers are contacting the customer and asking them to contact their installer to get the situation sorted.
So if you have submitted G83 and G59 paperwork for all your systems then everything should be OK as long as the DNO hasn't lost it - otherwise there will be some more paperwork to do.
Should apply to only those systems that have an export meter so it isn't going to be very many.
(Sorry - I only seem to post bad news recently.)
