Hi all,

I stumbled accross this clip while looking at some electrical bits on you tube :-
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txwvLMc7X54]YouTube - Mr Electric Domestic Electrician[/ame]

Lol, is it me or are the procedures they expect you to go through just a little bit over the top !!
I dont mean to offend anyone who has a Mr Electric franchise, but i personally would feel like a right prat going through that routine every time i went into a customers house !!

What do you lot think ?

I can imagine there are a lot of customers who love all the Mr Electric rigmarole like the Mr Electric greeting mat, ID card and tool mat - to someone who doesn't know any better a 'good electrician' (or technician) is one who wears a tie, drives a bright Sunburst yellow van and doesn't make a mess; other customers are more concerned about getting a good price for an aesthetically pleasing job done in accordance with the regs.

Mr Electric technicians probably have many happy customers who believe they are getting a professional, first class service, but the work is only as good as the person doing it, regardless of what's in his diagnostic bag.

I love the bit when it says we will inform the customer of what has been done in non technical language, "madam the light is fixed!, it was buggered before i started" :D. They spend most of the time selling the customer stuff in the big book of optional extras and the work mat and sheets aren't even big enough. Love it :D

I had a pair of them overshoes in my smoke detector boxes today

I just gotta get me one of those yellow vans, never mind that it clashes with my own diagnostic bag though,
(the missus is always finding fault with me)
