Sounds like a decent wholesaler that, asking for one thing and him giving you something totally different.

Get a new Megger MFT, use it for a while, come back a let us all know what they are like.

got my megger 1553 from acutest for ÂŁ611 all in inc vat and delivery................cheapest i could find anywhere on net. they are v reputable too. check them out.

sorry to bring this up again but been on the net having a browse at tester and came across the Metrel MI3000 on test-meter.co.uk and this looks as though it does all the same tests? anybody tried one? i like the look of the megger best but just starting out and need to watch costs but also dont want to have to change tester soon after buying one

its like this.................buy once and buy the best u can afford! i always think along the lines that when i purchase something, i dont want to be thinking 3 months down the line that i wish i had spent the extra lets say ÂŁ150 for the better reccomended tester! its all relevant really, as u can write it off against ur tax bill at the end of the tax year................or a percentage of it at the least.
I cannot speak for any other testers as i have tried fluke and megger and for me and ease of use it was megger al the way................they are bomb proof
