Evening all, I got asked what I want for Christmas this year by my mum, so I thought long and hard about what I wanted, and it's got to be a new tester ;)

I got a quote from my local supplier for a new Kewtech KT65DL and it was £670 INC VAT so I will put a load of money towards it.

Has anyone ever had any issues with a kewtech I should know before I buy one hahah?

Currently I use a KT64 at work with 0 issues for the last 5 years but that's not mine, and I want my own. Also, the KT64 doesn't have phase rotation or earth electrode testing.

I use the KT65DL its really good as far as I am concerned. What a lot of Meggerfluke snobs dont realise is that Kewtech designed the inner parts of both of those testers. I find the null procedure a bit of a fiddle, but apart form that the case is good and can take all the extras like the lampholder testers pat tester clamp manual R1/R2 socket etc. You can get a lot of extras as well if you shop around, so look carefully for the best deal. I got the pat tester-R1 R2 socket remote probe lampholder set croc leads and so on all for around the same price you quote. Plus I got a customer who is VAT registered to pay the VAT for me. So all in all quite a bargain. Batteries last well as well. I do loads of testing so I know. Maybe one day when I dont feel so pikey I too will become a meggerfluke snob as well.

Maybe Tel was going to send you some more Pete? So thats why he wanted your address.I have been wrong before though!

To the OP Merry xmas and I hope your "present" lasts the test of time.
Now, you are having a laugh.

Have you checked Testmeter out (one of our sponcers just follow the link from the forum) its £645 + vat so cheaper and you will get a discount for being a member here too.

Uh, best mum ever @Jamchiv01! Just remember to get the tester yourself for your mum to wrap as I've heard Fisher price do a very colourful Version and I'd hate to see your face on YouTube come Chrimbo morning - it would break my heart!

I'm buying myself for myself from myself a fibreglass ladder but don't tell Santa 'cause he doesn't exist.

I've got to say I love my Metrel! I nearly bought a KT63 when I got my first tester, but last minute opted for the Metrel, and think I made the right choice.

For Christmas this year I've just got a BSA Lightning SE XL GRT .22, and have just today sent off for my shotgun licence. Once that comes back I'm eyeing up a Hatsan Escort Semi-Auto

Yeah right hahaha, you will be laughing with the rest of anyone who knows it happened :)

We're not VAT registered, so would pay the full price, it does come with a nice lighting kit however that bumps the price up by £100 and my mum Isn't going to be happy haha

That is very cool. It would be the end user software that would make that the absolute king.
