I think you'll find it's 12 months minimum trading before you can register with NICEIC:

Elecsa don't have a minimum.

You can register with them straight away.

Not sure about the others.

Check out registratation for NICEICNI the northern Ireland branch is 6 months and the rest are pretty much unheard of.

Is there a link to this?

Sorry talking hobby horse. Too many letters floating about . I`ve downloaded info for Approved Contractor not Domestic Installer schemes which state minimum 6 months. Knew i`d read it somewhere.:)

As it is relevant to the OP - when the cooker is on max temperature it is not continuously using max power as it is just maintaining a temperature that it has already reached. A higher average current drain would be more likely when heating up to that temp , which would be a relatively shorter time. Also cabling and MCBs have a bit of leeway built into them so there isn't a problem if they are briefly operating around or just above their max.

Mind thinking about a different socket for the kettle on xmas day mightn't be a bad idea ;)

I meant the diversity logic in general rather than specific to this post :D. Your answer however has shown there is some rational thinking behind it (Cooker circuit diversity), although personally I might err a little on the side of caution...... especially the way my missus cooks

I used to think that too, but check out this thread...

Specifically the reply to me, when I said exactly the same as you have.

Cheers

They've changed their policies. Well you think they'd have changed the document that tells you their registration conditions. They must still be losing "potential sparkies" by not updating stuff that you download off the website that's obviously giving false information.
