Hi,

I'm doing a CU change in a couple of weeks and the customer (a retired engineer) has asked if I will be supplying "N Test results for main circuits
supplying this consumer unit."

Does anyone know what he means by this?

Thanks.

Well I'm a Scouser and he's a Southerner so I wouldn't rule out language problems somewhere!

Well us southerners do have a way with words,

will ya be supplying en' tes' results with that job cos if ya don't me an you'll be goin toe to toe on the cobbles guv!

maybe explain what you will be supplying him and why, and ask him what he means as well!

like `pick n mix` testing.....like anything that takes your fancy...
`oh, i think i`l get a Zs today..as i cant be arsed isolating the supply...hmm...sounds nice`....

and as far as loop is concerned....a Ze would be prudent here as well before work commences....just in case...

"I'm sorry Mr Customer but that's not a term I'm familiar with, if you explain what you mean I can then tell you what the powers that be changed it to. For example it's no longer live and neutral or phases it's line"......Problem solved without you looking like you don't know what you're doing.

It's not Live and Neutral anymore?
Say's who?
I don't have 3 phase anymore I have 3 line?
Says who?

Rubbish I say:)
