Hi Guys. I know there has been a lot on this and I have searched through other posts. Just wondering. Is there anyone out there that has recently done their assessment with Napit. I am only asking cause the manual appears to be very thin. MCS 001 and the manual seem to differ somewhat IMO or am I interpreting it wrong. Getting a bit stuck on the procedure element. Do you write an essay on what you do or a sort of family tree. Any guidance would be appreciated

Napit are really helpful and they even provide all you need, just simply fill in the blanks, go back to napit and ask for help, it's not that hard TBH.

I went through a bad experience with NAPIT so be warned. 10 days... It took them that long to answer an email!Firstly they lost my application form twice. It took 6 weeks for the assessment to be set up, had to request the helpful MCS docs be sent as it had not automatically been sent as promised.Once the assessment was completed had to deal with some non conformities but got unclear guidance regarding the roof survey; told one one thing then asked to do another, typical moving of goal posts. Had to chase them CONSTANTLY when I sent emails off. The best was when I got a 'read receipt' from some one who was on holiday but they had old dates in their out of office, turns out someone was checking their email, and deciding to keep the rest secret!I cannot say this will always be the case but I got the feeling there are people within NAPIT pushing us all to sign up for MCS as they get a lot of money from the scheme, but the back room staff are overworked.Don't wish to put you off, but beware when they say it is easy and don't forget you pay them up front.

I had a similar experience. It took me 3 weeks of constant harrasment and complaining to get the manual sent. After which they told me the assessment date would be 10-14 weeks. That means it could have been a total of 17 weeks. Initially they told me 6-8 weeks from time of payment. Alarm bells went off and a lot of moaning brought it down to 1 Month by a very helpful lady on the staff.
Unfortunately, me thinks that your right, they are understaffed and under trained. I specifically have to asked for the nice lady as no one else has a clue.
Anyhow, im sure it will be okay on the day. But if anyone else is going through the procedure at the moment maybe we could swap notes/ideas.
