Found this today during a PIR. This was part of a recent solar PV install. Was it too much to ask to install a banjo washer on the SWA.

Looks like it might be a brass bush as well instead of an SWA gland.

It is a SWA gland where the cable attaches to the metal clad CU. The solar PV installer has cut away the outer sheath from the SWA to fit a BS591 clamp onto the armour instead of just retro fitting an "earthing nut" or a banjo washer.

Did they install the SWA, or just the bonding?

SWA was already in place. The earth cable disappears into the solar feed in CU and appears to be the earth for the solar install not bonding.

So rather than connect to the MET....
Do PV arrays get earthed or bonded?

I think that's the outer sheath.
They'vr just cut a strip out of the sheath wide enough for the clamp to fit.

Oh well at least they put a crimp on the earth cable.
