I really need to get a new tester now, currently have a downloadable Megger but its too heavy for lugging about (also have a Martindale 2100).

New tester should be light and portable, user configurable and able to conduct fixed appliance testing so I don't have to lug about a low resistance ohmeter as well.

Whats available?

Have you had a look at the new Seaward Apollo 600? The menu layout is very similar to the popular Seaward Primetest 350, which makes for fully configurable testing.

Additional benefits to this specific tester:

- You can conduct 'point to point' testing, which allows you to use it like a continuity tester in order to test fixed appliances.
- You can also use the tester as a risk assessment tool, as the firmware is fully compliant to the 4th edition code of practice.

One final thing to note - don't be put off by the image of the tester as it looks very similar in size to a Megger PAT400 series tester. In fact, it can be held in one hand. It's portable (battery powered) for lower current bond tests, and mains powered if you want to test at higher currents.

Thanks for that. It looks more comprehensive than I need tbh - its feature laden but I won't use more than ½, don't need camera (i already carry a phone),don't need rcd capability, don't need the RA function (I'm NEBOSH qualified)....a cut down version would suffice.
