Hi all,

I am trying to show the amount of fuel present in the fuel tank in a mobile application.
the method i was trying was getting the consecutive voltage from fuel sender and tried to show up as graph. but there is a huge variation then actuals at different situation like when the wipper is on, when the head light is on and etc. at every usage os the battery supply, the voltage theat i am getting from the fuel sender is different. there is a huge variations. why is so? what should i do fix this.!

Presumably it varies in proportion to the instrument panel supply voltage? Try measuring the sender voltage and the supply voltage right at the instrument feed terminal, and find the ratio of the two.

Most vehicles used a 5v regulator for instrument sensing, this helps with voltage tolerances from the alternator.
+5v is measured as full tank 2.5v half, 0v empty.....I built a bargraph linear fuel gauge for my boat, but found because is was to sensitive to 0.10 v changes, the 10 leds were up and down, as the fuel and float sensor sloshed around the tank.
