I have been asked to pat test cash registers that are fitted with a non standard 13 amp plug and socket. The plug has a round earth pin with a flat top and standard L & N pins. To do the job I need a socket with extension that will accept the non standard plug. No supplier seems to stock the plug or socket. I have uploaded a photo to see if anyone here knows where I may purchase one.

as these are electronic bits of kit, i would be inclined to IR test by shorting L/N and testing to E, using leads and croc clips on a MFT or pure IR tester.

if you can get such an animal. maybe you could buy a socket and make an adaptor up with a 1363 plug top and some flex.

seach me. never seen one before. maybe some of the other members can help.

agree with the owner that the item in question id to be tested as a visual only test.. or like tel said pull the face plate off and get a standard 13a plug with a bit of flex and connect to faceplate.!

They are Britmac sockets

Have a look in the Britmac section of the catalogue in the link page 126 they only seem to do 2 gang now though so may be a call to Electrium if only a 1 gang will do

think that's because 2 plug are needed for the IBM/MICROS/SIEMENS cash registers (apart from a few models of Micros that have an attached TFT screen) these are low end PC hardware with a few modifications for connecting the cash drawer and customer side display, so a supply socket for the mains powered monitor is needed....
the chip and pin keypad and the printer are mostly USB connected these days....

these sockets are obviously to stop other items getting plugged in......that's the first time I have seen these particular ones used before, maybe security can cut the socket power to the till points if the place gets turned over to stop the cash drawers being opened .....so the poor staff get left to face an angry crook with the tills powered off....cash before staff safety at all times :p:
