If you could find installation instructions for that it would state a cpc is required to the switch plate. So to save argument even though it is not required many will also the connect a supplementary earth from the switch plate to the back box.

The switch front is plastic.
Terminating the earths in the front plate, will only earth the screws.
The screws getearthed by being in contact with the metal back box which is already earthed.
Shame we can’t do dumb as well as disagree.

Ok, thanks. So the wires that are connected to the back box at the moment should be re connected to the switch plate directly. Then a earth wire from the plate to the back box terminal? Forgive my ignorance but what's the difference between the two?

The switch you have is rated for up to 45A.
That usually means it has much larger wires connected to it.
Wires that would not fit into the earth terminal in the back box.
So the manufacturer’s provide the larger earth terminals so you can terminate the larger earth wires.
As you are not using large wire, you don’t need to use the large earth terminals.
