Hello.
As this is my first post I am seekin some guidance. I am currently enrolled on the C&G 2357 and have just completed my 1st year.

I am currently working part time in a retail environment and 3/4 days a week with a local electrical firm, I am working for the electrical firm for free (ish get odd payments now and again) with the promise of work when things pick up.

Would I be best carrying on in this situation of pushing for a full time job with a sparky firm, I know this seems an obvious answer but I get taught a lot and am progressing well and am conversed about ending up with a form who are no interested In training.

Any advice would be greatly received.

Its hard out there at the moment, for big and small firms. You can keep bugging the firm your at now for more work but this may pee them off and they may decide to stop your hours totaly, dont bite the hand that feeds you!! You could also write a letter, offering to make the tea, carry the tools, go for the sarnys etc and tell them your already at college. Go on Yell.com and search for all the sparky firms in your area and send out the letter to as many as you can. You may not here anything but if you get one good reply out of 20, then all its cost you is a few quid for stamps, envelopes etc. But, please dont give up, because although its hard at the minute, when the work comes in, its very rewarding.

Good luck

Jay
