Can I use coloured brown sleeving on blue/brown switch cables or do I have to obtain brown/brown cable?

highly acceptable as when the customer changes the fitting !! bang , bang , bang..... !!! instant call outs!! :)

i see it every day nearly so i just "assumed" it must have been passed into the regs via the back door...!! lol...

Or better yet, have the feed to the switch

No sleeving
Easier testing
And when the customer decides to fit their 'Spekial brand' B&Q plates you'll get yourself a call out :wink5:

only problem with double grown is you son't know which is L and which is S/L, so you could end up with L to L1 and S/L to common in the switch.

edit: brown.

That's my issue with using B/B too; at least when you've got a marked neutral then you know which end is which without getting the tester out.

NB: I read on a thread here a time ago that the 2011 regs now suggest 'considering provision of a neutral at the switch' for electronic switching devices, though have yet to look it up myself.

OK so this may be a silly/sensible suggestion.
Instead of brown/brown for switch lines, why not alternative colours say brown/orange? Save a lot of confusion.

I did the same years ago on a huge trunking/conduit job. For the lighting I used red, yellow, blue, black and finally orange for the switch wires. Saved no end of testing. Take a switch plate off you could see instantly there was more than one feed.
