Hello people
Testing a new RFC yesterday. Property is a bungalow cable run in loft . All tests perfect apart from IR readings ok all between 400 & 600 meg but new cable would expect nearer >999 Checked cable run as mostly accessable and no damp or new plaster. Only thing is it was extremly hot in loft yesterday do you think think this could effect readings.
Cheers.
Neil

Cheers Tel. Not to worried just that it must have been near 90 degs in loft , well bleeding hot anyway just wonder if that would effect result in anyway. Ta

Have you considered that it might have been your test equipment affecting your readings?? lol!! All electronic equipment is affected by environmental conditions.

So Yes, temperature and/or humidity will also affect an installed cables IR readings, among others!!

In the old dark days we were taught test methods and reliability.

MTBF also got the nickname the “bathtub theorem” because if you draw a graph it is bathtub shaped. The newer something is, the more chance of it going wrong.
