I am looking at an extention (just one room)where there are 3 sockets and two lights. The original board is 3036 no rcd. If I run a circuit to a 2 way rcd board in the extention and run 1 socket radial and 1 light circuit off this have I satisfied regs? Obviously I need to derate cable to new board due to fusing factor etc etc. The owner doesn't really want the expence of complete rewire / new board. Would I need to test/inspect all the other circuits on the 3036 board or can I just test and inspect my new part of the installation,

Many Thanks,

Myles

You only have to certify your work.

However, your sub main may have to be RCD protected, and if so, install a one way CU with RCD & MCB.

However, gas and water bondin, MUST be up to current regs.
