I am sure you will find someone who killed their Bosch second time, their Dewalt second time etc I think it is very very hard to find a brand that never has any go wrong. The main thing is how these problems are dealt with. I have never had a problem with any Hilti gear (Touch Wood) and that is even after using and abusing the stuff. The great thing is the service you are paying for with their products, I have a dedicated rep who I can contact if need be and who is able to come to site and pick up (and leave a loaner) if a product ever fails, I can also take any item I am having problems with to my local center and drop it off for service/repair within 2 working days.

In all honesty I only ever had one problem with my Bosch gear (and I owned a lot of it) but got a bit miffed when I contacted them and was told to return it to an authorized repair center (at my own cost) which I did but then had to wait 2 weeks for a repair because I had failed to enclose a copy of my original receipt with the drill. I threw my dummy out of the pram and put the rest of the stuff on eBay and then marched down to my local Hilti centre (who will collect/return a faulty product from me at no cost). I also receive a phone call around every 4 months from the rep just checking with how things are going.

Are you still using Hilti now or has that put you off? How long did it take to replace it?

I think Pennywise is correct in saying the Bosch is the best value as it is around ÂŁ250 cheaper, comes with an extra years warranty and in my opinion has no major obvious downfall over the TE7.

You must still love it though, I seem to remember it been pictured on the team photograph on your website ;)

If you can afford the extra cost go for the bosch 36v the larger of the two drillsl it does everything the corded version can do . I have never used a mains drill since buying this one only for core drilling.

Yep, still love it! I cannot fault the service, same day delivery of a loan tool, then 3 days later got mine back, AT NO COST TO ME!

This was why I swapped to Hilti as I was killing too many power tools and it was costing me in down time, hastle and obviously the tool cost.

I cannot recomend the Hilti managed scheme enough.

(Sorry it has taken so long to reply, work is just soooo busy!)
