The guy has bonded boiler in garage - where gas supply is. If he'd not cut cable, he could have taken round to gas.

Where steve,is the point of entry in relation to the gas pipe

I still cross bond under sinks if the hot and cold run to sink has been in plastic,

Why ?

Point of entry? Boiler is on one wall in garage, point of entry of gas is corner of opposite wall.

I do it, because it's easier than proving you didn't have to when someone questions it - which they will. Like I said, I won't leave any plastic visible.

Out of interest where is the MET/CU?

But bonding stuff that isn't a parallel path to earth is just going to make it live, unnecessarily under fault conditions.
The way I see it, alway always test it and see it needs to be bonded before doing it.
You shouldn't be worried about proving what you have done.
Be confident :)

Yeah some confusion here. There's no bonding to gas at present, only to boiler - which does run back to CU. I've not done that, in fact so far I've not touched the electrics at all.

Thanks, it's easy on some threads to go off at a tangent and the poster doesn't update the thread.

Does the bond to the gas boiler run to a gas pipe which is continuous metal from the point of entry to the boiler?
If so you could note as a departure? In fact on an inspection I would only give that an observation, as it is just a reccommendation

not sure on that one somersetsparks.

I've not seen the bonding to boiler. I knew gas wasn't done anywere near inlet to house, same with water. I saw he'd taken a 10mm earth upstairs, but had no idea where it had gone. Today when I asked client to confirm(after she said electrician was finished) bonding to water and gas was done, the answer that came back was: "no, he's doing it this week - but he's done boiler".

It's not a problem now, as he's supposed to be coming back and doing it.
