Hi i'm after a new 240v hammer drill mainly for chasing out, as i'm doing almost no site work i'm getting fed up lugging round a transformer so i'm looking for a good quality 240v anyone got any good suggestions ???

The pride and joy of my tools collection is a cheapo drill/chisel bought from B+Q for thirty five pounds,it has lasted 6 or so years, the chisel action requires little or no effort and it smacks the crop out of any wall of any material

I also have a hilti that cost not far off 10 times more,I have to work like crazy to get it thumping away and rarely use it

If I was buying now,I would get a cheapie,I could burn one out and get 9 more for the price of one top make and it would probably do a better job job

Think cheap and nasty and save yourself work and money

mostly doing house bashing now so prob full rewire every 2 weeks then loads of little jobs few extra sockets here n there light switches moved drilling through brick for outside lights that sort of stuff, so quite a bit really

i bought a bosch 2kg 3 function for about 100 quid nearly 10 years ago which is still going i has a partner which is a hitachi with the same specs, when one gets a bit hot i change over to the other, i have 3.5 and 4 kg drills but after a morning of chasing my arms hurt fromk holding the thing to the wall and i have got big muscles, also try chasing above your head with a 5 kg machine. bosch gbh every time

Hi mate was it 3kg+ model the performance power ones

I have one of those good for chasing and small holes with SDS masonary larger holes in tends to snag and try to break your wrists

so after yrs i have finally made a move to bosch sds+ 2kg+
think its DVF model only snag 2-24mm max on masonary sds bits

makita alll the way. mine's 110V, but the 240V are the same. ( except for the voltage , of course ).
