Hello all,

Im after a new ford transit, not sure if to contract hire or lease for 3 years?

What are peoples experiances of these deals?
And does anyone know of a good deal out there at the minute?

Thank you.

By that do you mean so much a month then own the vehicle at the end? Im considering all options at the minute, just never done anything like this so not sure whats the best.

Thanks

i got a 4 year lease on my new transit custom limited, different deals work out to your need if your a sole trader or limited company, i used vanarama, they were great and new van delivered to my house within two weeks, i pay ÂŁ206+ vat per month

Lease hire does seem to be the fashionable way to go at the moment, Affordable monthly repayments all Repairs and servicing etc is included in your monthly payments due to the fact they want to look after their asset. Then after 3 years or whatever agreement you have, you then have the option to buy the van at a cut down price or simply return it and get a brand new one.
One thing to watch out for is Mileage and other small print, a friend did it a few years ago he went over the mileage allowance and got absolutely battered financially .

far better off buying a 3 year old ex-BT vivaro. half the price and ready racked out and ladder racked

I wouldn't buy an ex-BT vehicle. Their engineers don't look after them at all and BT Fleet just do not repair them. They bodge them back together so they just about work until their time served is up.

how is the new transit custom compared to the latest one before it

I had to reply to this one!

I've not driven the Mk7, but I drove a 2004 Mk6 until a couple of weeks ago. Now changed for a new SWB Transit Custom. They're like chalk and cheese. The new one's so much quieter and MUCH nicer to drive. Loads of toys, and some good practical features like the load-through under the passenger seat for 3m lengths of conduit and the (optional) fold-down roof bars. I'm just amazed how much better it is.

Out of interest why did you buy and not lease?
