Hello all,

Im after a new ford transit, not sure if to contract hire or lease for 3 years?

What are peoples experiances of these deals?
And does anyone know of a good deal out there at the minute?

Thank you.

I had to reply to this one!

I've not driven the Mk7, but I drove a 2004 Mk6 until a couple of weeks ago. Now changed for a new SWB Transit Custom. They're like chalk and cheese. The new one's so much quieter and MUCH nicer to drive. Loads of toys, and some good practical features like the load-through under the passenger seat for 3m lengths of conduit and the (optional) fold-down roof bars. I'm just amazed how much better it is.

What at about space in the back ?

Out of interest why did you buy and not lease?

I tend to keep my vehicles from new, or nearly new, until they're just about knackered, so owning outright seems best to me. One reason for buying is that I can make any changes I like (within reason) without being concerned about the condition of the vehicle when I've finished with it. I'm currently fitting out the rear with my usual set of plywood shelves for all my tools and materials.

To be honest, I've not really investigated the alternatives.

just changed my van got fed up of the transits rusting so bit the bullet and got a VW what a difference just another class of van

I'd agree about the rusting issue with the previous Transits.

Is that the Transporter? Did you compare to the Transit Custom and what was it about the VW that made you change?
