New Garage Heights

I assume that these heights are the same for new build garage ie 450mm min sockets, 1200 max light switches. The person who's garage it is in would like the sockets all higher as it's a better height for him, so I take it's just a max height of 1200mm?

450 to bottom of socket 1200 to top of switch but don't forget this only applies in new build. If your client wants them on the ceiling then that's where they go

Common sense has to prevail mate. As there is a risk of damage from items within the garage such as tools, lawnmowers etc put them in a logical place. I know mine are higher than 1300mm so I don't have to crawl under my workbenches to plug something in and there's little likelihood of them getting damaged when the tools start flying...

The socket heights in Part M are really only for guidance on new builds where the end user is unknown.
It's an attempt to standardise.
Where the end user is known, it's their choice which is paramount.

Sorry meant 1200mm, god knows why a typed 1300mm! It's a new build garage detached from a new build bungalow. Happy enough with the heights was just double checking. Thanks.
