Can you tell me if i have a supply cable coming in, going to a supply fuse and from here we are using a doulble insulated 10mm cable, from here we go straight to a fused spur with no other device what requlation are we breaking apart from 433.1.1

As long as it has correct fuse rating and has not had a haircut. Why would you have a 10mm cable into a FCU anyway?

It is an old installation that has no meter, the 10mm cable is from the electricity board, it is a council property with just a television amplifier and some lights in the circuit, the lighting circuit continues in conduit, the tv amp is next to supply

I'm thinking he's not talking 'house' here-maybe some council unit or something like that-they sometimes have a deal like unmetered street lighting where a fixed fee is paid.

Contact your local electricity board and ask them if its possible for a council property to have an installation with no meter, then come back to me with your apologies

Are you sure this isn't a sub-mains as no meter is present ??? ..... you go on to say its a council property so will have a metered supply regardless of age and condition .... if its a communal block of houses/flats their is probably a distribution room that supplies all the properties, your opening post give numerous senerios that dont usually occur and especially together are you sure your weighing up the job correctly?

You'd have the breaking capacity of the BS 1362 fuse first then the suppliers fuse as a back up under the BS 60439 annex.
