UK New induction hob require 2x16A fuse. Can I connect it to the existing socket please?

Those are the pictures from new hob. It require 6mm cable according to the plate info. Current hob is hardwired through 6mm cable too. Fuse at the fuseboard is 32A shared for oven and hob. Does it mean that fuse in the main fuseboard need replacing for 2x16A and then perhaps oven to be on a separate one? Just trying to get the idea of much extra work will be involved as I am contemplating whether is not easier to change the hob to the one that is compatible with current setup. Any advice would be much appreciated please. Thanks

Your hob is rated at 7.35/230 =31 amps, 6mm cable required alone.

So in a nutshell I need to get electrician to run a new cable from switchboard on a separate fuse to make it work? I can't remember Amps of cooker but max wattage of it is 3.5kW.

A similar query was posted a couple of weeks ago, and I gave a similar response to buzz above. However it was suggested that diversity could be applied to the oven/hob combo, since it's unlikely all elements will be on at the same time. Doing that calculation shows, even though the numbers are a little higher here, the result is still under 32A, suggesting the existing cable could be used?

Hello i have just rewired a friends house i have installed a 32 Amp cooker circuit with a DP switch above the worktop and also a Cooker Connection Plate behind the cooker.

He is using his old Ceramic hard wired hob but has just bought a new cooker and its one of them that has a plug on the end.

My plan was to hard wire the Hob into the Cooker Connection Plate and also connect a 2.5mm cable into the plate and take it into a FCU in the cupboard to fuse down the new cooker.

How does this sound?

With diversity comes under 26.15 amps for both appliance.

Where a normal sized hob is placed in a worktop directly above a normal sized built in oven, I see no reason why it cannot be considered as to be the same as a slot in cooker, and diversity calculations applied.
There is another problem that you may encounter when trying to connect this hob, and that is the connection box was designed for European 3 phase supplies, and not really suitable for 6.0mm2 T&E.
Some are better than others, but none are like the old British cookers, where you had plenty of room to connect to M6 or M8 studs and nuts.
If there isn't room to do a good job with 6.0mm2, I use 5 core 2.5mm2 HO5RN-F flexible, with crimped ring terminals on the end, with one core used for the earth, 2 cores used for neutral and the last 2 cores used for live. The cores are similarly paired up at the isolator or connector box.
