Hi,

I'm replacing an old electric oven with an induction hob. There's an existing cooker 45A cooker switch running on 6mm cable which they've wired up to a standard socket and a plug on the oven. My new hob is rated at 7.3kw and it states to use specific cables for heat safety.

I'm looking at swapping the socket for an outlet plate (under the counter) and then wiring up the hob with this...4.0mm² 3183TQ Butyl Flex Black

This look ok?

Appreciate any help or advice.

Hi - sorry to not answer you directly, but my advise is to call the Manufacturer’s tech support if you want to vary from their installation instructions.

sounds OK, just follow MI, as Wilko says. ( but if MI says to use 10mm cable for the circuit, use common sense to overrule).
