Hi there : I am just posting to introduce myself, stop lurking (!) and to thank the many sparks who so freely share their expertise on this great forum.
I am in my 50's, based in the South West near Gloucester, and am approaching electrical work as a second career. I have my 18th regs, building regs qualifications plus the C&G 2392_10 in initial verification, and use a calibrated MFT by Di Log. So it's a case of minor works only for clients right now : I operate as a handyman and find that so much painting and decorating work plus joinery comes up against the need to either relocate, replace or repair cabling and/or accessories, especially lighting, and I issue MEIWCs for all work. I was all set to make 2020 the year I approached NICEIC for consideration for CPS membership, but then COVID came along and of course the rules have now changed (perhaps understandably) regarding CPS admission. So I know that the route to domestic installer with a CPS accreditation is going to be a long one! So I am keen to perhaps network with experienced sparks in my area who may consider me for improver-type tasks, so that I can develop a portfolio of work and gain more hands on experience.
Enough pitch: it's great to be here and thanks again to those who run and contribute to this forum.
