Guys,

This is a new roof type for us, it is used on park homes and is fitted on top of trusses counter battoned. Unfortunately the rafters are not visible from the roof and there is no loft.

Has anyone installed on a roof like this and what approach was taken?

We've installed on them before. Each block of 'tiles' needs to be taken off individually and then reinstalled back over the bracket. We used lot of lead to keep it weathertight and it took ages.

One issue could be the strength of the roof - these roof coverings are light and the roof may have been built to suit.

Thanks SolarCity, that is great, although not sure I am looking forward to doing it now....

We spoke to a park home manufacturer we know today and he was able to give us some guidance also.

It's not as tough as it looks.

Try to use a bit of board to spread the weight - especially if you're a bit of a fat boy like me.

we did it with big noggins and hanger bolts, didn't take too long tbh, just drill the holes where you want them, then install the noggins, drill again, then hanger bolt.

The trusses will probably need strengthening as that's an ultra lightweight roof, so the panels could well double the weight of the roof covering.

Outside the 15% rule then :)
