Hi All
My name is Dominik I have decided to change my career from security manager to qualified electrician. I will be starting my training on 12.08.17 I've been told by the Access trining centre that I should finish the course by December And I couls start looking for job as a electrician improver/mate. Is the time frame realistic ?

nope.all you'lllearn is the basics. good enough to get a job as a mate, butto be qualified you need core quals (c&g 2365), AM2 and NVQ3. coupled with at least 2 years practical experience.

Jeeez I did 4.5 years as an apprentice to become qualified 4 months lol,

Thing is, after a few months and course complete, he won't be qualified, and won't be able to get a job, and will be a good few grand out of pocket, and will have to start all over again. You are definitely best off.

I feel sorry for the poor buggers who buy these courses with good intentions.

Dominik, that will give you something that an employer may give you a chance and a job as a mate. As has been said 3 years as a mate will allow you to join the dots of all the theory that went in but couldn't be deciphered to real life. As long as you go into it knowing this then you'll be ok, if you don't then you'll crash and burn and be in debt. All the best
