Thanks for all the posts. After reading them all, i have less faith in the electrician now. The reason being, he completed the ring main in the conservatory by going back over the original part of the conservatory that already has a concrete floor. He channelled out just deep enough so the cable was just below the surface of the concrete. As an eralier post says this should be in a conduit of some sort that is earthed.
Not being used to all the technical info used here, I take it the cable running in the air cavity along the outside wall should either be in a protective conduit or be channelled on the inside of the inner wall? I do understand the arguments that he should be able to finish his work first before making judgements but i will definielty keep an eye on things before plastering is done etc. He is not due back probably until next week so will have a chat then.
