I'm contemplating career change and become an electrician. Having looked around I'm leaning towards the course offered by Trade Qualified. (Would welcome any thoughts - but not the issue here).

Whilst they offer the 2391, they understandably recommend not taking it for at least 6 months after qualifying. However, how much of a hindrance would this be? If I'm doing domestic stuff I need certifying, I take it I've got to find someone with the ticket who's willing to come out and check my handiwork? Is it as simple as that, because to me I can foresee problems and delays occurring, preventing me from moving to another job.

Welcome your thoughts.

Hav a look at Plumbing course | Construction Training | Electrician Courses | DIY Skills the part P course they offer covers everything you need to start you can ignore the pat testing it is not required.

Having passed all the courses you will then need to be assessed by a competent person scheme of your choice once that is completed you can work and certify on domestic properties.

The 2391/2392 are not required for domestic installer. You would need them later if you wanted to do PIRs and use non generic forms. Nothing stopping you doing PIRs if you consider yourself competent to do so.

The 2391 is the most difficult exam to take 7 out of 10 fail.

Good luck
