Newbie question time but i need to know,

Juat had 10 x 295w panels fitted and all seems well but i dont get how our system only produces 13amps max when its showing 3000watts on a good day. The panelz are 9amp each so why does the inverter show 350volts but only 11 or 12 amp max on ac or dc ?

I don't understand the question but
10x 295 w =12.82 amps depending on power factor correction if any.
13amps is 3kw or 3000amps.
What do you mean panels 9amp each when you've stated 295w?
A 295 w panel is 1.28 amps.

Hello Martin and Welcome to the Forum !
Probably they are working normally, if I've understood correctly. 10 x 295W = 2950W which at 230V will be 12.83A or there about. Does that help?

Each pv panel states an output of 9amp, does the amps not get multiplied because they are in series like the volts ? My understanding of amps and volts is clearly wrong lol

Thanks for the responses,

Hi Martin - if you could post a pic of the spec label that may clarify it.
In general, if things are in series the same current (the 9A here) would flow through them all, and it's the voltage that's being added up. If they are in parallel, the voltage would be common but the current would be adding together (hopefully).

Aah i see, i never knew that, that explains it. Wouldnt 2 parralell banks of 5 prooduce more amps then.

All of ours are in series by the looks of it since i see about 350v going into the inverter.

Thanks for the insight, ive always been interested in solar and im here to learn.

Whats peoples thoughts on 18650 battery banks. Has anyone made there own

Yes, but only on the DC section. PV panels output DC, which then goes into the inverter and is output as AC either for use in your house or export to the grid.

The best arrangement of panels is whatever works best with your inverter, each model has current/voltage limits on the DC input which can be exceeded if you just slap the panels together any which way.
