Power has been temporarily restored to the Freezers, thank you.Hi - I would get hold of some extension leads sharpish and get the freezers back on power. It will be tough to find the fault(s) without test gear.

I'm not looking for nice, but helpful is useful.Well firstly thanks for your service, I have high regard for service personel. Now that aside you should know better as an ex spark, changing a board and connecting existing circuits to it without testing is literally appalling, sorry but there you are, you will get the odd nice comment but it will be few and far between I am afraid.
I am, and that's part of the plan. Mostly I wanted something safer than what was there - and that's still my aim.So you are familiar with Part P of the building regs then?

only philistines and lager louts keep beer in fridges.Too true, there may be beer in the fridge.
What sort of main CU do you have? is it a relativley new one with 2 RCDs?I'm replacing an old MEM Fuse Board in my garage with a Small CU. The power was supplied from the ground floor ring main, so I've removed that and added a separate circuit in the main CU with its own RCBO. Problem is, the RCBO trips every time I turn something on and I can't understand why. Apart from the supply cable - main CU to new CU - the cabling is exactly the same as yesterday and was working so I can't understand why there's a problem. Help desperately needed as I have 3 freezers in the garage.
I trained as an Electrician with the RAF in 1975 and I've been doing it since.
Problem sorted. Everything up and running.
The old strip light. I had planned to replace it at some point in the future. Just had to bring the plan forward a bit.and what was the fault?
