Hi

Have joined the forum,

Due to family circumstances i am starting to branch out on my own and build up my own domestic work. In mean time i am still working for a company fitting out shops and pubs.

Having looked around the forum it looks a good resource and place to pick each others brains.

I will have to join one of them Part P thingy bobs soon, which seems like a money making racket if ever i saw one... but for now i am not doing anything notifiable...

Hi Gavin, welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, if your just doing domestic, you'll soon find out, you will have to join a scheme, otherwise your extent of work would be limited. CU changes, new circuits & installations in special locations. Pretty much bread & butter work for domestic installers.

Thanks for the reply Midwest. I knew i would have to join a scheme. I have always been covered by the company. It just seems a right pain in the arse! and a lot of money and paperwork....

Hence my post about a problem with shared neutrals on a light circuit as i will be using it for my joining assessment in several weeks time.
