Hi All, I've recently taken and passed 17th edition (harder than I expected), planning on doing 2391 inspection and testing course in september, can anyone recommend any pre course reading? Any books anyone could recommend would be useful. Currently working as a single, 3 phase and gas meter installer - going to be big business after sept 2014!!

I have just passed the 17th edition myself and chose the 2392-10 as the test and inspection course as its easier and have found a number of niceic publications helpful the "domestic electrical installation guide" is one.
why is sept 2014 important sounds like a good thing if it's the smart meter roll out.

Thanks for the advice - yea sept 2014 is the planned date for domestic smart meter roll out (although this date keeps being put back) and if i'm not mistaken this is a similar date for green deal so should be plenty of opportunities for electricians to work on photo voltaic and micro generation projects!! fingers crossed
