"Next inspection due" labels

Hi all. I have a small question about inspection interval labels.
We all know to fit one of these labels with the relevant date upon completion of a new installation, CU replacement etc, and upon a "satisfactory" EICR.....but what about an "unsatisfactory" EICR? Do you guys still fit a new label upon completing an inspection of the "failed" installation? or do you not fit a new one until the remedial works are completed, and if necessary, any retests?
My thinking is, that by fitting a new label with the date the inspection has been carried out, you are saying another inspection is not due for, say, another 5 years, even if it has failed. Therefore by saying it is not due for inspection until the date shown (e.g 5 years), is that not implying that it is safe?
With this thought in mind, lately I have not been replacing any "next inspection due" stickers/dates until the installation is satisfactory.
Am I wrong in doing this?? Or would your argument be that the label simply implies when the installation is due for another inspection regardless of the result, and a new sticker/date should always be installed upon initial inspection regardless of the outcome?

Yes, we were pulled up by NICEIC inspector for not doing so, so now we do.
You write in the box. So a sparks following on knows an EICR has been done.
I normally write "Subject to Remedial Works" following an EICR unsatisfactory.
Then following remedials, re-label with 3months (eg. if temporay inst'n), 3, 5,10 yrs as appropriate re-test interval.

Might be a good opportunity for someone to design an eicr label, denoting either satisfactory or unsatisfactory.

So where do it say in BB, it says next test date, it does not say failed or pass.
If you put one on it gives the impression it passed, so it fails customer turns out I'm not paying.

Put it on the fact it is unsatisfactory is not relevant. It is only stating it should be periodically tested and a report on it's condition obtained.

I believe GN3 states that but it is not supported by BS7671.

No it is not implying it is safe, it is stating what the recommended date for the next inspection is.
The next inspection date sticker doesn't imply anything about the safety of the installation, it tells you when it was last inspected and the maximum recommended time period before the next inspection.

Then you are not complying with BS7671
